It is once again time for the winter tires.

My white Acura Integra Type S in my garage. A floor jack is lifting up the right side.

Dark Forest 2024: I went a few weeks ago and it was fantastic. This happens every year (I think?) at Powell Gardens. It’s about a 40 minute drive east of Kansas City.

A forest path at night. Candles are hanging from the trees overhead lighting the path. Neon lighting can be seen in the distance, illuminating the forest trees.A strange symbol hanging from the trees with neon lighting reflecting off of it.A bright orange neon window frame hanging from the trees. Neon-blue lighting can be seen behind the window frame bouncing off of the tree leaves.A group of umbrellas hanging from trees lite up in bright red lighting. The umbrellas have strange bead chains hanging from them that you must walk through.A fire-pit at the reception area. They had smores!

Ok I ended up ditching the Sony XM5 for Bose QC Ultra. Very happy with this change. The XM5 were not comfortable and the noise cancellation was wack.

The worst part about selling stuff online is the immediate flood of low-ballers. Especially concerning are the dudes that will squabble over $10: offering $290 for a $300 item. What the hell is wrong with y’all.

Tomorrow I’ll get a proper PDS running for myself. As for Mastodon I’m thinking about migrating to a community instance rather than using this large general purpose one. I’ve been thinking about some of this wrong.

I’ve been playing around with Bluesky’s personal data server, and of course, I’ve been using it wrong. There is a big emphasis on “personal” here. It makes sense to set one up for yourself, but not for a community of people. It’s all about personal ownership of data, which I guess makes sense.

One interesting use of Mastodon specifically is that it’s basically a go-to shop for RSS feeds. I subscribe to a lot of different companies there with my RSS reader.
