It is unfortunate to hear about the Titan submersible implosion. I am unsure as to why anyone would have boarded that contraption given all of the information around it. I suppose they were mislead or perhaps threw caution to the wind. Given the Navy’s account regarding their detected implosion acoustic signature, the submersible simply descended into its own demise hours after departure.

It really reminds me of Mt. Everest, and the folks who spend thousands upon thousands of dollars to climb it and inevitably die a terrible death. I do not understand the desire to do these things, and I don’t think I ever will.
